But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0(<\/strong>\u00a0\u25baActs 1:8<\/strong>)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations and welcome to another brand-new week. Two weeks ago, we began a series titled\u00a0‘Holy Spirit: Catalyst for Supernatural Breakthrough.’<\/strong> So far in the series, we have established that a solid relationship with God and His Spirit is the prerequisite<\/span>\u00a0for operating in the supernatural realm.<\/p>\n

As believers,\u00a0we belong to a kingdom of power\u00a0<\/strong>(1 Cor. 4:20\/2:4) and power not only\u00a0authenticates our membership in God\u2019s kingdom<\/strong>; it also\u00a0gives value to our lives\u00a0<\/strong>(Psa. 110:2-3\/ 66:7). The question then is\u00a0\u201cwhy is the church of Christ so powerless in most parts today?\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0The reason is not far from the fact that\u00a0many people in church are yet to discover our covenant access to empowerment<\/strong>\u00a0(Hosea 4:6\/Isa. 5:13).<\/p>\n

In Acts 2, the Bible records that\u00a050 days after Jesus ascended<\/strong>, a fledgling group of\u00a0120 believers\u00a0<\/strong>could do nothing but\u00a0pray and fast, wait and dream\u00a0<\/strong>before they experienced His supernatural breakthrough and the wait was worth it because\u00a0it did happen and it was powerful.<\/strong>\u00a0That miraculous moment became\u00a0a dramatic turning point in the lives of the disciples.<\/strong>\u00a0That day, the\u00a0church was born in power\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 power that\u00a0transformed the disciples and enabled them to transform the world.<\/strong>\u00a0This Acts 2 event is\u00a0a vital reminder that as believers, we are called to a supernatural life\u00a0<\/strong>and that the same wonder-working power displayed in the life of Jesus and His early followers is available to us\u00a0when we are filled with the Holy Spirit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As you read this epistle today, chances are that just like the early disciples,\u00a0there may be some promise from God that is yet to be fulfilled in your life.<\/strong>\u00a0With all my heart, I\u2019m convinced that\u00a0God wants to intervene in your difficult situations,\u00a0<\/strong>releasing you from issues of\u00a0poverty, debt, sickness, depression, loneliness, hopelessness, addiction or family strife;\u00a0<\/strong>whatever your biggest need may be.<\/p>\n

In 1 Corinthians 15:6, more than 500 people had encountered the resurrected Savior and heard His promise for\u00a0\u201cpower from on high\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0but in Luke 24:49, only 120 bothered to show up on the Day of Pentecost to receive His gift.
\nThese 120 disciples yearned for a breakthrough from Heaven<\/strong>\u00a0so they\u00a0prayed,<\/strong>\u00a0they\u00a0pondered,<\/strong>\u00a0they\u00a0prepared;<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0waited.<\/strong>\u00a0Just as Jesus\u2019 disciples did before the Spirit was poured out, my prayer for you is that you will follow the example of those who patiently waited for His supernatural presence\u00a0<\/strong>and as you do, I have it on good authority that\u00a0your supernatural breakthrough will come swiftly and suddenly.<\/strong><\/p>\n
