Last week, we began a series titled:\u00a0<strong>Engaging the Power of Thanksgiving<\/strong>\u00a0and using the gospel accounts of the feeding of the 5000, we established that\u00a0<strong>thanksgiving is the vehicle that moves men from the realm of insufficiencies to that of all-sufficiency.<\/strong>\u00a0As we continue with the series, I will like to begin by saying that thanksgiving is not only\u00a0<strong>appropriate;<\/strong>\u00a0it is also<strong>\u00a0powerful\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>guarantees answers to our prayers<\/strong>\u00a0(Matt. 6:9-13\/Phi. 4:6)Between Acts 24 and Acts 28, the Bible has an account of\u00a0<strong>Apostle Paul \u2013 a man who had learned the meaning of true thanksgiving, even in the midst of great adversity. Separated<\/strong>\u00a0from friends,\u00a0<strong>unjustly accused<\/strong>, brutally treated,\u00a0<strong>languishing almost forgotten<\/strong>\u00a0in a harsh Roman prison \u2013 if ever a person had a right to complain, it was this man, But instead of complaints, his\u00a0<strong>lips rang with words of praise and thanksgiving!<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>From one end of the Bible to the other, we are commanded to be thankful.\u00a0<\/strong>As a matter of fact, thankfulness is the natural outflowing of a heart that is attuned to God and<strong>\u00a0God expects us to stay grateful regardless of what is happening in our lives<\/strong>. We are to thank God for the\u00a0<strong>good,<\/strong>\u00a0for the\u00a0<strong>difficult<\/strong>, for the\u00a0<strong>unknown,<\/strong>\u00a0for the big decision we are facing,<strong>\u00a0including challenging relationships.<\/strong><\/p><p>Without a doubt, practicing daily thankfulness may seem like another chore, but\u00a0<strong>the power of gratitude far outweighs the few minutes it takes to practice it.<\/strong>\u00a0A heart of gratitude glorifies God,\u00a0<strong>deepens our faith,<\/strong>\u00a0defies the lies of Satan,\u00a0<strong>draws us to God<\/strong>, brings peace; and\u00a0<strong>guarantees\u00a0our testimonies\u00a0<\/strong>so\u00a0<strong>the next time you are discouraged,<\/strong>\u00a0I encourage you to thank God in your prayers.
